I fucking loved KoRn as a teenager, and I spent hours and hours on their message board. Hell, I even met one of my online friends from the KBB in person recently, 10 years later.
However, since I don't recognize the title of that song (or know who the fuck 12th Planet is), I'm not even gonna click it. Their new music is so shitty that I can't even think of a way to finish this sentence.
Pretty much, they use their rock sound and have a talented producer have their sound make sense...
When I saw the part that read 12th Planet on Youtube I was like Ok I understand now why Korn is finally making good non-pandering music. At least I thought even their good songs back in the early 2000's was very pandering to the Marilyn Manson vibe.
And no one can't deny Korn was ultimately a singles EP band throughout their career... They took 1 hit single, added 10 muddled crap songs and sold an album... And they pretty much did that with every album in their discography.
That being said I like this song, it makes sense it is forward thinking and the sound is revolutionary in my opinion... If anyone has any music like this they'd like to recommend I'd be more than happy to check it out.
Your musical sense is so odd and seemingly backwards. You're like that person who hears the remix but never took the time to appreciate the original song?
Ill politely disagree about Korn's early albums. Have you ever listened to them? I can't be arsed to listen to them anymore though. I'm a adult now and it doesn't fit in with my mature tastes. But they were a pretty decent band. I enjoyed their new sound at the time.
If you think taking a half step rhythm and layering it over some new hard rock song is "forward thinking"(absolutely hate this term). Than you're mistaken. This is a perfect example of the cheapening of music today.
The way that sounds is like saying AC/DC was good when I was a teenager, but now after all these decades have gone by something like Back in Black is beneath me...
No I don't think the sound is immature. I will conceive sounds do get outdated, but that doesn't make something immature. Not when for the most part none of those sounds existed prior to their existence...
That is something I can't take away from Korn (no matter how much I think most their music was boring to me)
And please try to tone down your generalization of me, because you don't really know me or what I have to offer (that is if you're even remotely curious)
Yep, mature doesn't mean beneath me. You're using that connotation. I just don't vibe off of that music anymore. If you want to make comparisons. Then my old records played on my Fisher Price record player aren't immature?
But, honestly i don't really know anyone my age listening to stuff like this. Like I've said before, the dubstep coated material is the sound of the young generation of teens. Its pretty much spoon-fed and over done so fucking badly. I doesn't fit in with my tastes because I'm older.
I don't know you other than someone who posts mostly youtube videos on a predominantly image based board. What else can I do but generalize when you are offering some insight of the type of music you're into. Which appears to be mostly of what I would expect a teenager to be listening to.
You mentioned some outstanding veteran IDM artist's in another thread. But yet I'm still very confused to how your tastes progressed to that of a younger generation.
