the Schooling of the rule of thumb "I before E, except after C" Is the biggest hoax ever played on countless scores of young and impressionable minds.
It has fucked me up for life, as there seems to be more exceptions to this rule.

Even curiouser, I was also erroneously taught that the word "dilemma" was spelled "dilemna"...again not true, but the teaching of which strangely concurred with pockets of random people from all over the globe
