It seems like perhaps if steps were made to ensure a fair wage those 47 percent, they would make enough money to pay taxes. Also, not starving to death or dying of exposure is an entitlement?

I really think there are better criticisms of Mitt than what is heard in this video. The audience is donors he's courting. He's laying out his strategy to campaign and win by focusing on certain groups and realizing others are not going to be swayed. It's not a strategy to govern, to be president, just to win by focusing on certain areas.

tbh, that's not a lot of money. I make 40 a year and I think it would be impossible for me to support anyone but myself and my dogs, and I don't live extravagantly by any means. Add a grown man and two kids and I'd find it hard to feed us all or put us in an apartment without bars on the windows.
* I should edit to add that I don't think that I should not be paying taxes.

I agree it's not that much money for a family of 4, but depending on where you're living and how you're living it can be a comfortable middle class life in the suburbs with the mini van and bills paid etc. It would vary a great deal on cost-of-living such as in a small city or rural area versus big metros and yet income taxes aren't adjusted for that.

i live in ct, which isnt very cheap by any means so i suppose that has a lot to do with it. im also pretty scared to live in any sort of city type area just because i live by myself and have serious little white girl being alone anxiety from all the horror movies i watch.

I hear no hate or despising. Does Obama despise evangelical Christians or hardcore NRA/Nascar types? I would hope not but I also think he won't be wasting much in resources on those groups that can be better focused on more sway-able subcultures.

I'd say he was indeed playing to his audience, and why wouldn't one do so to get them to open up the checkbooks and other support, especially if there was a lot of truth in what he was saying, just too blunt to usually be said in public?
Mitt probably does 'give a shit about' everyone out of his own misguided faith. What does Obama 'give a shit about'? Enshrining his own ego? Resolving his daddy issues? I really don't care, just do the damn job or get out of the way. We hit 16 trillion in debt this month as WWIII is bubbling up but people want to get all shocked n' awed at Mitt's realistic target marketing "focus on the 5 - 10% in the middle, the independents"

If he had to rely on small donors instead of his billion-dollar sugar daddies, he wouldn't stand a chance. Obama has tried to do things, like the American Jobs Act one year ago, to help the economy and create jobs. But the fucking idiot teabaggers in Congress blocked it, as well as many other things. THEY are the ones who need to get the fuck out of the way. And stop all this crying about the deficit because I'll bet you didn't say a goddam word about it when Bush was running up the fucking bill. Read some history about the Great Depression and how FDR got us out of it. (Hint: It involved spending big on government programs.) And what Romney was saying was just teabagger bullshit, unless you consider senior citizens, veterans, students, and the disabled to be moochers. Your resentment of the poor and needy is pathetic, and a disgrace to this country. You probably consider yourself a Christian, too. Right?

Your incorrect assumptions of my religious beliefs, my opinion of W's overspending, and my feelings toward the poor and needy are just as spot on as your insights on history, economics, and how O-tried-real-hard-to-fix-things but gosh-those-evil-Pubs-wouldn't-let-him. Although I will grant you that you may be correct that Mitt might not win and hasn't run the best campaign. Yet still the polls are effectively tied and the outcome will depend on what develops over the next weeks and who actually gets-out-the-vote that day, so what does that say about Mr O?

but black people only make up at most 13% of the population and of that percentage only a certain amount can vote. In the 2008 election, I believe only 7% of blacks voted, not particularly different than any other election. The black vote isn't really the focus for this election. The Latino vote is much more important as well as the vote of women.
