The video you posted is a Norwegian band called Popol Vuh who changed their name to Popol Ace because of the German band (the one I prefer) with the same name who performed the music in the Herzog clip I posted and is not the same band as you mentioned who I find typical and inferior. I prefer Vuh to Ace.

Yes I thought you were saying as much, I just don't really see the comparison between the two other than the name and era. Doubt I could listen to a full album of either, but like this track nonetheless. In this day and age, 70s prog- (even the most pedestrian), is anything but "typical", That said, I dont claim to be an expert on the subject, so you could be right,. The German Vuh seems a bit on the ambient side for my tastes is all. So with this in mind, feel free to recommend some ;)
Speaking of comparisons however, I was actually searching for this in particular to demonstrate to a friend that Slash's guitar solo in "November Rain" was vaguely reminiscent of the one in Music Box

Okay, I see where we're at. I was just saying that the Ace was fairly typical of most of that era's prog. Don't like the singer at all and I just prefer the spacier prog style of Vuh at that time. It all depends on your tastes. I don't know where to begin suggesting music for people, to be honest. The more Krautrockian the stuff is, the more I like it. I like a great deal of prog too but I'm fussier as there can be a lot of singing. There wa sa good comp that came out a few years back called Prog is a Four Letter Word or something that was International artists and pretty swinging.
