don't know the context, but it's pretty amateur as these kinds of terror executions go. professionals tend to necklace their targets more effectively, with burning tyres and whatnot. makes for a much more gruesome warning at the finish.

this is a great read about people in countries fighting this way and massacring each other. It's a great showing of how young boys and men are recruited into one side, or the other, how they are often given access to a lot of drugs, and how they are motivated and conditioned in the process to psychopathically rape, mutilate and kill. out of the belief that the people who they are killing are on the side of people who had killed their family members. The author of the book was very lucky in that he was bought out of the rebels he was fighting with by a de-programming group and the story goes into what it took to psychologically extricate him from this type of living. I'm not good at describing this stuff, I might be using a few wrong ways of putting things, but basically i feel like I can look at videos like the one in this post a lot more unflinchingly because of the understanding I got from reading this book.

If you want to read more stories in the same vein as this, Unknown Soldier from DC's Vertigo line delves into it quite extensively. I would highly recommend the book.
