I think you may be surprised how many people in those lines really are just there to support freedom of opinion (and because they like the chicken). I hope so anyway. I know how much I hate being told what I must agree with, support, and or condone just to be liked and accepted by Liberals. And I see no difficulty enthusiastically supporting both Gay Rights, and Chick-fil-a. If Chick-fil-a ever begins illegal discrimination against gays or any other group of people, I'll help drive the fucking bulldozer.....

I agree with you completely. As long as no one tries to condemn me for spending my money there, I'll be cool with everything. But THAT is what I see happening, and it's absolutely abhorrent to me. If someone REALLY wants to stop Chick-fil-a, I think they should get a group together, pool resources, buy it, and close it in a big free chicken sandwich party. Honestly, I don't think any businessman in the universe has ever been convinced to change his views on religion and morality by people actively trying to hurt his business. Do you want to enlighten him, or just hurt him? Or...... just silence him? Protest the company if you like, try and hurt his business if you like. But please, do NOT try and silence him. That is a slippery slope. When you start belittling other people because they speak out honestly and legally in support of their beliefs EITHER WAY, I think you've crossed a line. It's pretty simple to me. Be as Gay as you like, be as straight as you like. Eat Chick-fil-a, don't eat Chick-fil-a. I'm fine with it all. But the MOMENT someone tries to actively make someone else feel somehow lessened or inadequate by their personal decision either way, the MOMENT someone tries to belittle another person for their personal opinions, the MOMENT someone tries to silence the opposition, we have a problem, with a capital P, and that rhymes with C, and that stands for chicken.

As I think you already know, My opinion of anyone who opposes equal rights for all American non-felons is that they are completely wrong.... but they have that right, and to tell them that they are bad people, or imbeciles or to lash out against them is just as wrong as it is when they lash out against homosexuals. It's just counterproductive. I absolutely, completely, wholeheartedly support all human rights, and that most certainly includes the right to love whoever you chose. That has never changed and it never will. It's probably the main reason I hate Islam so fucking much. No BLTs in Allahville ........... Honestly? Now that I think about it, I don't think my political and moral stance has anything to do with anything but the food. I just really like Chick-fil-a sandwiches and BLT's. I wanna be free to eat what I want, when I want it. Don't we all?
I'll confess that I really do try to be clear. That's my main ambition in life. Well, that, and to be orally adored by Jennifer Aniston..... in Hawaii..... on the night after Romney is sworn in ......and have my Ex-wife walk in pushing a cart...... delivering the ice bucket with the Dom Perignon..... and sporting a fresh black eye.

Thanks for merely insinuating that I was confused... and not saying what you really meant. How faux-polite of you. I am well aware that a lot (probably the vast majority) of the people in these lines are anti-Gay and just using freedom of speech as an excuse. But for me, it has almost nothing to do with freedom of speech, only with freedom from religious (or any other type of) persecution. You must know that Nazi Germans ridiculed all other Germans that did not cease shopping at Jewish shops at one time. As now, it was because of their religious beliefs. This smacks of the same kind of persecution to me. I will not stand by idly and watch Gays persecuted either. And believe me, I have no problem with any adult human being on the whole planet with regard to their sexual orientation... except for kiddie stuff. You can fuck chickens or oranges or the recently deceased if you really want to and I won't particularly care. I'm a pretty liberal guy sexually speaking. As long as your partner does not oppose the act, have at it. I support Gay rights. I support ALL human rights. Like the stupid and false accusation of racism, so many Liberal fuckers here WISH I was actually homophobic so they could call ,me that too. BTW, I support Stem Cell research, and gender equality too.... as if it actually mattered to any of the Liberal assholes here.
May I offer my sincere apologies? I freely confess that I am often truly guilty of assuming the worst from the Liberal side of the SG family. It's a terrible habit to pre-judge someone, no matter how many times it turns out to be well founded and confirmed. I was unfair. I am sorry.
the only thing that gets at me are these people who are VERY passionate about boycotting this fast food chain. "i will/would NEVER buy their product". i think some of those very people would be surprised to learn just how many national corporations are devoutly religious, and anti-gay.

The point was the absurdity of the Chick-Fil-A protests. They accomplished nothing. We learned nothing from it.

I support gay marriage. I would love to see adoption promoted in the gay community. It would be far better for kids in the foster program to have a stable loving family. (this isn't to dismiss the foster parents who are great).
But when elected officials poked their noses into this I forgot any problems I might have had with Chick-Fil-A.
Elected politicians deciding what speech is acceptable are far more offensive than what some fast food owner does.
I mean, I guess it holds true that you vote with your dollar, but does it constitute censorship if I think it's absurd that CFA should vote with my dollar as well, without me getting a say in what's being said? Really?
As for people who think CFA has bad business practices and are nominally pro-gay rights, but still buy their sandwiches because they're just so ding dang good: learn to pack a fucking lunch. Jesus.
You absolutely have a right to do business with them or not. This is your end of the free speech position. Government officials do not get to decide to not allow them their free speech choice.

My meds pretty much keep the seizures under control, as long as I remember to take them. So for the most part I just have lots of headaches.
