I just looked at the temp outside...-39c...that is all...goodnight!

So, 2 days ago this guy I know offed himself, well not just a guy I knew but he was my partner at work for several years then I cross-shifted him for several more...we snowmobiled & fished together off and on for the last 20 years or so. He even tried to throw my BBQ off my balcony in a drunken stupor one night(thank fuck it was chained to the railing because my "75" Nova was parked just below). Well to make this short and sweet folks- take the time to be involved with those around you..go for coffee or a beer or just to say hi, because we never know when they or we aren't going to be around anymore. I hope he found what he was looking for in his actions.

went for a ride yesterday...first ice forming on some smaller lakes in the area.I ventured out a few feet just to check it out.So far there's about 3-4 inches..good enough for walking or skating on.Abused the old girl a bit..tore the front skirt away from the body...repair time later todayhere's one from last weeks trip out to my buddies cabin...old toyota heaven..both 87s one diesel one gas..both perfect trail pushers.one is my bros the other my buddys..they are severe toyota fanatics and both own several "parts trucks" and spend countless hours tinkering with them.this one was taken last week..open water and a cold boat ridethere you have it..some recent OC..another friend of mine has a remote cabin where you have to cross 2 lakes and a big swamp to get to it. He dissappeared over a month ago and I knew he was out there..yesterday I saw his truck in town so the ice must be thick enough to cross by foot up in his area now...time for me to go visiting this week and get some exercise.

Up until a year ago this month , the largest  plane I'd ever been on was one of these:and never once had I taken off on dry land...it was either floats or skis.
